Somerset Manor at Castle Park represents the highest expression of residential architecture in the American Midwest. Designed by English architect Jeremy Rawlings — who traveled between England and Illinois throughout the construction process — the manor draws its inspiration from the great country houses of the English countryside.
The structure itself is a feat of engineering: 12-inch reinforced concrete block framing, with masonry walls reaching 24 inches in thickness. Designed specifically for the Illinois climate, the walls maintain a naturally stable interior temperature year-round — cool in summer, warm in winter — without relying on mechanical systems alone.
Radiant heated floors run throughout the entire structure. Every room breathes with the warmth of a home that was built not for show, but for living — and for lasting centuries.
